Some businesses take longer to form than others. Epiphame Advisors took 20 years.

I started this project in the early 2000s while riding trains around Europe on a solo backpacking journey following college. Life and love would plant me in Madrid, Spain a few years later where I would spend the formative part of my 20s working at a travel agency that catered primarily to American study abroad programs and their students. While in Madrid, I also founded and operated my own wine tour company, Taste Divino. It was an amazing time of life.

Fast forward twenty years to my native Northern California. Having spent the better part of my career exporting fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts to wholesale and retail customers around the globe - I've always had a keen understanding that I thrive in the intersection where markets, food and finance meet geography, languages and the common human experience. I built a career in global trade: food, agriculture, and commerce. But what kept me going through it all, the truly sustaining passion behind my career in export, was always travel - and the daily interactions I had to connect with people around the world.

 

The joys experienced abroad, the wisdom gained through interconnectedness and differences of perspective, the lessons of self-discovery that travel and global interactions impart - that is what drove me - and continues to drive me today.

This is obviously a business project, one focused on engaging in  business development, brand representation, sales and marketing, and travel. It's a project whose founding values are centered around driving business growth and personal growth at the same time. After all, shouldn't the expansion of our experiences and global perspective be regarded with as much significance as gross profits and bottom lines?

 

Ultimately, this is a project about growth and self-discovery...the kind born out of an 'A-ha' moment...an epiphany...a personal one. Welcome to EpiphaME!
